WHAT IS KLOTHO

A native anti‑aging protein

First identified in 1997, Klotho is produced from the Klotho gene on chromosome 13 and exists in several isoforms—including a transmembrane form dominant in the kidneys and a secreted form released in the brain and plasma. The peptide’s expression is boosted by aerobic exercise and naturally declines around age 40.
